Cilantro
Part shade, harvest when desired size, 2 in space between each plant
Bolt-resistant variety with good flavor and excellent upright habit for easy harvesting.
Cucumber - Marketmore 76
Full sun, 52 days to maturity, 18-36 in. space between each plant
One of the most recognizable heirlooms with fruit averages 8-9 inches long, perfect for slicing. Needs abundant soil moisture and rich soil. Try not to overhead water, only water at soil level, drip irrigation is best. Trellis-growing saves space. Harvest frequently to maintain production.
Hollyhock - Flower
Full sun, 24-36 in. space between each plant
A self-sowing, old fashion favorite in the garden. This showy plant can reach up to 6-8ft tall. Select a sunny location in moist, well-drained soil. For extended life, try cutting stalks at their base after blooming to enjoy the following year.
ResiulaCalendula - Flower
60-65 days. Perennial in zones 8-10.
A self-sowing, short-lived perennial flower. Highly productive plants produce medium-sized flowers with two rows of resin-rich petals. Hardy in our climate, Resina can overwinter to produce early blooms in the spring and even an occasional bloom in the winter if grown in a sheltered location. Can sprinkle on salads with their edible, aromatic petals.
Scarlet Runner Beans
Pole habit, Full sun, 65 days to maturity, 2-4 in. space between each plant
One of the oldest runner beans in existence. Can be used for ornamental purposes or as a vegetable: small snap pods or green shell beans. The flowers on these plants are loved by both hummingbirds & bees. Use support like a trellis, tepee, or netting. Keep bean vines well watered. Both the crispy bean flavored blossoms and the flat green pods are deliciously edible; let some of the pretty purple and black beans mature in their pods to use for tasty dry bean recipes.
Summer Squash - Patty Pan
Full sun, 52 days to maturity, 18-24 in. space between each plant
A Native American squash with Beautiful ornamental scallopini. Bright glossy yellow with green blossom scar. Productive, tender with excellent taste. Harvest regularly, 2-3 times a week, once plants begin to produce. Cut or gently twist off fruits when they have reached the desired size.
Tomatillo - Green Husk
Full sun, 70-80 days to maturity, 24-36 in. space between each plant
These prolific bushy plants are 3-4' across and almost as tall. Green 2" fruits are ripe when they burst through husks. Usually blended with hot peppers to make traditional Mexican green sauce. Fruits are ripe when they burst through the husks.
Zucchini - Dark Green
Full sun, 45 days to maturity, 3 ft space between each plant
Dark green with light flecks, good production and an authentic zucchini flavor. Try not to overhead water, only water at soil level, drip irrigation is best.
