Private Estates & Chefs

We design, install, and maintain diverse edible landscapes for Estates, ensuring Personal Chefs have immediate, access to the freshest ingredients right outside the kitchen door.

Communities
& Non-Profits

We convert empty lots or underutilized community space into valuable, food-producing assets that supply neighbors with nutritious food & build resilience.

OUR MISSION

As a community, we can grow a resilient and equitable local food system, growing food through regenerative organic practices that are both better for us and better for the planet.

MEET THE TEAM

Newfound Foodscapes is the vision of husband and wife team, Marcus Carini and Beth Leonardo. Based in Alameda, California, they are also brand designers together at Double Six Design and partners in homeschooling their two uber-creative children. This culture of intentional living and self-growth is an integral part of their family's daily life, which they bring to every garden project.

MARCUS CARINI

Marcus founded Newfound Foodscapes in 2021 to promote a more resilient local food system. His passion for growing and cooking slow food is rooted in the traditions of his Italian-American family. As our Lead Grower and Garden Coach, he specializes in hands-on cultivation and teaching others the skills needed for self-sufficiency. Marcus also designs and builds custom woodwork—like raised beds and trellises—that perfectly combines beauty and function in the garden.

Marcus contributes to the local food movement as a Board Member of the Alameda Backyard Growers Education Committee.
